Module 3. P-I-E structure  DUE-Feb.11 Tue.

1. Take the first body paragraph of your original diagnostic essay, labeling each sentence based on its function (point, sub-point, illustration, explanation, and closing sentence). It is possible that sentences have more than one function or you may not know what the function is. Don't revise it yet, just see what you HAVE already and label as much as possible.

Write a diagnosis for the organizational structure and level of support provided in this paragraph so far (about 3-4 sentences). Identify one or two things you think are done well/included appropriately, based on what you learned in the PIE structure presentation. Also, identify one or two things you think you could work on for a future revision.

Questions to consider: When I make a point, do I also include an illustration for that point? After my illustrations, am I following it up with an explanation?

2. Revise the first body paragraph using the P-I-E principle.
